In short: Shopify Scraper & Analyzer requires no account and collects no personal information. It reads only the publicly available data of the Shopify storefronts you choose to open, and works locally in your browser. The only data ever sent off your device is the domain name of a store you look at, used to fetch a traffic estimate — nothing else, and never anything that identifies you.

1. Who we are

Shopify Scraper & Analyzer (the "Extension") is a free Chrome browser extension that helps you analyze publicly available information about Shopify storefronts. This policy explains what the Extension does and does not do with data.

2. Information the Extension accesses

When you open the Extension on a browser tab, it reads information from the web page currently in that tab in order to analyze it — for example the store's products, prices, detected apps and pixels, theme, and other publicly visible storefront data. This happens only for the tab you are actively viewing when you click the Extension, using Chrome's activeTab permission. The Extension does not read your browsing history, other tabs, or pages you have not opened it on.

3. Information sent to third parties

The Extension does not transmit your personal data. There is exactly one case where data leaves your device:

Traffic estimate. When the traffic section is shown for a store, the Extension sends only that store's domain name (e.g. example.com) to our proxy service, which in turn queries a third-party website-traffic data provider to return estimated visit and engagement figures. No personal information, account data, or browsing history is included in this request.

Requests made to review-platform APIs, image-search providers (for the optional "search by image" feature), and product/collection data are made directly to the relevant store or service and contain only the information needed to perform the action you triggered.

4. Information stored on your device

The following is stored locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) and never sent to us:

Your settings (such as interface language).
Stores you choose to save, and related notes.
A randomly generated, anonymous identifier used only for local functionality. It is not linked to your identity and is not transmitted.

CSV exports and downloaded images are generated locally and saved directly to your computer through Chrome's download function. We never receive a copy.

5. What we do not do

No account, sign-up, or login.
No collection of names, emails, passwords, or payment information.
No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data.
No advertising trackers and no cross-site behavioral analytics.

6. Permissions and why they are needed

activeTab & scripting — to read and analyze the public content of the store in the tab you are viewing when you click the Extension.
storage — to save your settings and saved stores locally.
downloads — to save CSV files and images to your computer.
Host permissions (specific domains) — to fetch public review-app data, image-search results, and traffic estimates for the features above.

7. Data retention

Locally stored data remains in your browser until you delete it or remove the Extension. The domain sent for a traffic estimate may be cached by our proxy for a short period to reduce repeat lookups; it is not associated with any user.

8. Children

The Extension is a business/research tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
